Trip to Sri Lanka

Had a recent cycle touring trip to Sri Lanka which was fantastic. Independent trip with a friend. Made up our own route. Took the Fuji XT1 and one smallish lens so easy to pop in a bar bag. Monkeys, tea plantations, Sri Lankan beer, curries, samosa’s and  a wild elephant coming onto the road only yards away from where I had just cycled past…It was quite the adventure!

T’is the season for……heather and crocosmia!

The heather is in full bloom and the patches of wild crocosmia in North Wales add a nice splash of colour to an image.

It is definitely time to get out and about with the camera again!

If you go down to the woods today…….

you will find Bluebells, hopefully…the season is well and truly upon us. I was dropping off some images at the National Trust shop in Beddgelert,  as they are now going to be selling both mounted photographs and framed prints and thought I would have a quick look at the Bluebell woods in Aberdeunant.  They are still a little early and in about another week should be great!

Found…lurking on the hard-drive…

Autumn sunrise,Llyn PadarnHaving a bit a of an image tidy up  on a wet BH weekend and found this one…..hiding on the hard-drive….taken November 2013 at Llyn Padarn, Snowdonia. I had never photographed here before and following a quick reccy in the evening, noticed a tree standing on its own with a broken branch (image can be found in the Snowdonia album). I had already decided dawn was the time to photograph and was very lucky to get this early morning mist and fantastic sunrise.  I have actually printed this out as an A3 to have  a better look and it is now one of my favourites…! Just shows you, it pays to go back through your images and have a really good look at them again.  I had  edited a few keepers from that morning but completely overlooked this one! Hoping to find a few more if this rain keeps up!

Llyn Nantlle DawnIt was Costa-del-Snowdonia over the Easter weekend. I managed to escape the crowds by going to the southern area. Using my back-up camera this weekend as the main one was in for repair following a small accident last October when I slipped on a rock and kicked over my tripod as I fell backwards down a small ravine……cracked the top TFT screen….clear duck tape will only do for so long:-).  This image was taken at Llyn Nantlle at dawn 10 minute before the sun’s rays broke over the Snowdon Horseshoe.  Great hour or two spent enjoying the light and the company of a fellow photographer who joined me just before the sun appeared.
