Goodbye 2017….Hello 2018…!!

2017 is almost finished with and looking forward to more time out with the camera in 2018. Just booked a trip to the Alpujarras in February to photograph the almond blossom and trip round Ireland in the campervan on the cards. All in all 2017 has been pretty busy.

Successfully awarded the Welsh Photographic Federation Distinction back in November for a panel of 12 images. Have attached the Hanging Plan…title was ‘At the Water’s Edge’.

Delivered a few camera club talks and one to the Royal Geographical Society (regional group). More talks pending in the next three months…..may look at another photographic challenge…possibly the Irish Photographic Federation…lots to think about and put into action..but isn’t that what a  New Years Resolution is all about:-)

And here is my last image from 2017….from my local stamping ground..the beautiful Dee Valley near Llangollen. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Personal Project

The Panorama in AutumnFor a few years now I have been going up to an area above Llangollen  known as The Panorama. The aim is to try and build up a small body of work of this area including Dinas Bran Castle, and Llangollen Valley. I had an idea of photographing from the same viewpoint in different seasons and I keep going back to this particular spot. I really like the way the road leads you to the hills at the back of the image and the tree is a great focal point. Think I may have to invest in a  4WD though for winter!
