Trip to the Alpujarras

Just returned from a trip to the Alpujarras in Spain to photograph the almond blossom. Not fully out in some places due to the cold weather (colder than expected) but in the Lecrin Valley and the Sierra de al Contraviesa some almond groves were in full bloom. Beautiful to see. Great walking on the many long distance walking routes in the area…..plenty to explore both in and outside the small villages…..Will leave it until mid-February next time or head further down towards Malaga where the blossom season is more advanced…More images can be found in the Gallery section under ‘Travel Photography’.

Jurassic Coast

Had a short trip down to the Jurassic Coast in Dorset. Amazing coastline..some wild weather and an accidental submersion of the camera bag complete with  camera kit!

Trip to Colorado

the-rockies-4I have just returned from a recent trip to Colorado. It was not a specific photography trip but I took the Fuji XT1 with me as knew the autumn colours would be in full swing. Will put several images in the Travel Photography section under ‘Fall Colours, Colorado’.

Autumn in the Lake District

Blea Tarn-4151

Blea Tarn

Just returned from a six day trip to the Lake District, mainly in the Langdale area. Met Office described the weather as ‘benign’….I now know this means ‘NO RAIN, NO WIND and NO SUN’! I had a few days of this which was very frustrating, as the tarn / lake reflections were amazing. However, there were a few glorious mornings like this one, which certainly made up for it:-)
